PlainLoud privacy policy

Last updated November 6, 2026

This policy covers the PlainLoud Android app (“PlainLoud”), which makes the sound of your videos and audio files louder and clearer. In short: PlainLoud does not collect, sell or share any data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app does not even have permission to use the internet.

Information the app handles

All processing (measuring loudness, the volume boost, equalizer, limiter and saving) happens on your phone. Your files and the list are never sent to the developer or anyone else.

Permissions

PlainLoud asks for no storage, camera, microphone, location or contacts permission. You choose each file in Android's own picker, which gives the app access to that file only. New files are added to your gallery through Android's media store, which does not need a permission on Android 10 and later.

Sharing

Files leave your phone only when you choose to share them, and only to the app you pick.

Storage and deletion

Removing an item from the app's list removes its preview picture; the saved file stays in your gallery until you delete it there. Your original files are never changed. Uninstalling the app removes all its data (saved videos and audio stay in your gallery). Since we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

What we don't do

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
