PlainStamp privacy policy

Last updated November 6, 2026

This policy covers the PlainStamp Android app (“PlainStamp”), a camera that stamps the date, time and, if you choose, the location onto photos and videos. In short: PlainStamp does not collect, sell or share any data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app does not have permission to use the internet.

Permissions

Photos and videos are saved to your phone's Pictures and Movies folders through the system media store, so no storage permission is needed. Photos you choose to stamp later are picked with the system photo picker.

Information the app handles

All of this stays on your phone. The capture log and settings are kept in the app's private storage; photos and videos are in your phone's shared folders. None of it is ever sent to the developer or anyone else.

Street address

If you turn on the street-address option, PlainStamp asks your phone's built-in geocoder to turn coordinates into an address. That service is part of your phone's system software (on most phones, provided by Google) and may use the network under its own privacy policy. PlainStamp itself makes no network requests. Leave the option off if you don't want this.

Sharing and exports

Files leave your phone only when you share them or export the capture log (PDF or CSV), and only to the app or place you pick.

Storage and deletion

Deleting a photo in the app deletes the files; the log keeps a note that they were deleted until you remove the entry. Uninstalling the app removes the log and settings; your photos and videos stay in your gallery. Since we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

What we don't do

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
