PlainScan: PDF Doc Scanner
PlainScan turns a paper page into a PDF on your phone. Open it, tap Scan, and the camera is already up: there is no account to create and no watermark on the file you save.
It is the right tool for receipts, invoices, contracts, forms, school notes, letters, and IDs. The walkthrough is how to scan paper documents to a PDF on Android, offline.
What it does
- Finds the page edges and straightens the photo.
- Cleans shadows and stains, with optional filters.
- Puts many pages in one document, and lets you add pages later.
- Imports a photo that is already in the gallery.
- Reorders, rotates, or deletes pages.
- Shares or saves a PDF, shares images, or prints.
- Copies the text from a scan. The listing covers English, other Latin-alphabet languages, and Chinese. Recognition runs on the phone.
- Searches your documents by title or by the words inside them.
- Offers a light theme and a dark theme.
Two shortcuts are on the listing: long-press the icon for a “New scan” action, and an optional setting that opens the camera as soon as the app launches.
Scanning uses the on-device document scanner in Google Play services.
Privacy
PlainScan has no internet permission. A document leaves the phone only when you share, save, or print it yourself. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no account.
