How to watermark photos and videos on Android
If you post the same set of photos more than once, put the name or logo on the copies before they leave the phone. PlainMark does that at the original size, offline, and it does not touch the originals.
The steps match the Play listing as of November 2026. Every feature on the listing is free: no subscription, no credits, no trial, and no account.
One photo
- Install PlainMark, or share a photo to it from the gallery. You choose the file in Android’s picker. The app does not ask for storage permission.
- Add text or a logo. Text has 10 fonts, from a plain sans to a handwritten signature, plus colour, size, opacity, and rotation. A logo can be any PNG or picture. A flat background such as white can be removed in one tap.
- If the photo is busy, add a shadow, an outline, or a box so the words stay readable.
- Drag the mark, pinch or use the corner handle to resize and rotate, or snap it to a corner. Undo if you overshoot.
- Save. The copy keeps the original size and shape. Pick JPEG or PNG, or leave the format as it was, and set the JPEG quality if you want a smaller file. Optional 2048 px and 1080 px sizes are there for a feed that does not need the full file.
- Find the copy in Pictures/PlainMark. The original is still the original.
By default the location is stripped from the photo copy. The date and camera details stay. Change that in Settings if a client needs the place kept in the file. There is a quick insert for ©, ®, ™, the year, today’s date, and details you type once (name, website, handle, email, phone). The last watermark is remembered, and you can save marks to reuse in one tap.
A whole set, and video
Batch applies one watermark to many photos. The margin from the corner stays the same on each photo, even when the sizes and shapes differ. That is the difference between a mark that sits in the corner of every frame and one that jumps around.
For a pattern that is harder to crop away, repeat the mark on a diagonal across the photo.
Video is burned in at the original resolution, and the sound stays. Copies go to Movies/PlainMark.
PlainMark has no internet permission. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no sign-up. If you also need the capture time and GPS visible in the picture, stamp those with PlainStamp first, then watermark.
